Chance Hayden’s Baritone Gold / the Strangetones

Chance Hayden's Baritone Gold - Internationally acclaimed Portland guitarist Chance Hayden digs deep to unearth Baritone Gold, spotlighting a guitar rarity and a new batch of 1960s-inspired instrumentals that feel like lost tapes of the legendary studio ensemble The Wrecking Crew. While retaining his astute jazz sensibilities, Hayden's works yield vibrant echoes of surf rock, West Coast blues and Memphis soul: a resounding example set by Booker T. Jones with whom Hayden recently shared the stage. "As gifted as Hayden proves to be as a guitarist, his work as a producer is equally, maybe even more remarkable." -Glide Magazine.

The Strange Tones

The wildly entertaining Strange Tones have blended a unique concoction of original blues, rockabilly, surf, and vintage R&B and finished it off with a private eye twist. They've shaken and stirred these elements into their own sound and style, Crime-A-Billy. Well-crafted songwriting, top-notch musicianship, and a playful, engaging stage show have contributed to the band's induction into the Hall of Fame and many awards from the Cascade Blues Association. "If surf guitar god Dick Dale found himself in Bogie's Maltese Falcon film-noir underworld and drank beer at the seedy bar with bluesmen Jimmy Reed and Magic Sam, the resulting soundtrack might be exactly what the Strange Tones purvey." -Oregonian"
