GOLDEN BOY
Golden Boy is the Portland, OR-based, pop-rock project of singer-songwriter Ian Mullin. The self-titled debut album features lyric-driven songs underlain by harmony-soaked melodies. The subtle poetry, glossed-over humor, and elaborate arrangements make Golden Boy a multi-faceted project, jam-packed with artistic detail, as is emblematic of this hyphenated/compound adjective-laden description.
NICK GAMER
Oregon’s Nick Gamer writes dark, cinematic Americana songs that sound equally at home in the western cosmos of Lucinda Williams and The Byrd’s Sweetheart of the Rodeo. A former guitarist for Japanese Breakfast and frontman of Le Rev, Gamer has traded indie pop hooks for the high lonesome wail of the pedal steel. His songs are a paean to the ashes of youth and the grim smile of moving on, conjuring the times feelings of isolation and dark nostalgic yearning without ever addressing the headlines directly.
THE MONARCH HOTEL
The Monarch Hotel is the duo of multi-instrumentalist/producer Isaac Brickner and singer/songwriter Stephen Metsig. Brickner's lush soundscapes provide a unique sonic platform for Metsig's emotionally-charged, introspective lyrics. The Monarch Hotel is currently recording their debut album, and can be frequently seen performing at venues across the Pacific Northwest.
