THE GHOST EASE Vinyl Release Show w/ Slang & Dim Wit

THE GHOST EASE

THE GHOST EASE is an independent project envisioned by multi-modality artist, Jem Marie. Known for compelling live performances, unique post-rock project vibrates with life from Marie’s dynamic lilting vocal stylings, rambunctious fresh guitarwork and emotive artful compositions. By turns impassioned and playful, percussive melodies braid with layers of distortion, rising and falling like a tide. Marie’s mesmerizing, fluid vocals span a dynamic range of emotional landscapes, mixing gentle intimacy with fiery force.

Slang

Portland's indie rock juggernaut Slang isn't just pedigree. Although their band history is a family tree of Portland's musical past, Drew Grow (Drew Grow and the Pastor's Wives, Modern Kin), Janet Weiss (Quasi, Sleater-Kinney, Wild Flag, Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks, Kathy Foster (The Thermals, Roseblood, Summer Fun Band) and Anita Lee Elliott (Viva Voce, Blue Giant), the four-piece powerfully melds their separate legacies into an explosive, intense ensemble centered around Grow's enormous voice.

Dim Wit

Dim Wit is the music/video project of Jeff Tuyay. Experiencing Dim Wit is similar to that of eating a hard shelled candy with a sour soft filling. On the outside, it’s all colorful and sweet, but give it some time and you’ll start to pucker up. It will also leave a strange residue in your mouth.

Originally a stripped down, poppy punky, funky two-piece, Dim Wit with Tyler Verigin (Lola Buzzkill, Moon By You, Reptaliens, Night Heron) has evolved into what is now a darkly dancey two-piece with keyboardist Salomeya Sobko. While the musical climate has changed, the lyrical content remains the same: dark, yet silly and playful. With influences ranging from Deerhoof to MF DOOM, Dim Wit manages to form an unexpected and unique sound of its own. It's as if a pair of clown doctors got together to make music, trying to heal through humor and harmony, but still kind of... scary.
